Squished Dreams July 1, 2009

So we all have those dreams of marrying that famous star that we love and adore. While I knew I did not have a shot, I dunno there was always hope. Anyways my dreams of winning the heart of a particular star was crushed today when Mr. and Mrs. Jonas announced via the Jonas Brothers Facebook group that their eldest son Paul Kevin Jonas had asked his girlfriend Danielle to marry him and she happily said yes.

While I am most happy that Kevin has found someone to share forever with, I am a little sad inside. I also think that they are very young to be getting married, unless they are planning a few years of engagement. While I believe whole heartedly that Kevin would not have asked Danielle unless he was sure that they could spend forever together, I am still scared and worried. I will just have faith that God will strengthen their relationship and make it last. I would hate to see Kevin go through a divorce and have the media all up in his business.

Wow this post is sort of depressing. Oh well, I’m sorry K-Train for sounding so melodramatic, but you are not even my age and I haven’t had a boyfriend in years, yet alone thought about marriage. Since my hands are tied in this matter, I am handing it over to the Lord.

Best Wishes Kevin and Danielle. Have a blast planning an amazing wedding!

Kev and Danielle they are cute together!

Those who know me, know that I put a ton of stuff up on twitter. Stupid stuff too. I don’t really do too much, but I write about it anyways.

My favorite part of Twitter are the people that I follow. My favorite people that I follow are my Disney Channel Stars and the Jonas Brothers/Jonas Brothers Band. They are some of the most inspirational and funny people I will ever not meet.

I love “hearing” Christa Black, Greg Garbo, and Ryan Leistman bicker with each other. I love John Taylors Tweets about anything and everything. And the band always tweets sweetly about their fans! They are some of the most entertaining people to follow on twitter and I can only hope that I can be as entertaining as they are one day.

The Girls of the Disney Channel Stars that I follow: Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Taylor Swift never fail to show their followers how important having strong girl-friends is. They are constantly tweeting about how they miss each other and how their talks together. Because they are so young 16-19 age range, this is very important. I want to thank them for placing inspiring quotes and notions in their tweets.

While most people tweet for networking purposes, most of us just tweet for fun and to connect with our friends that we already have. To have followers that we don’t know is a pleasure! We hope our tweets entertain you!

New Jonas Cd= review time! June 17, 2009

So today was a big day in the Jonas World as the release of their 4th album happened. They swept iTunes again reaching number #1 in record time. I have no doubt that you will love this CD.

Lines, Vines, and Trying Times is by far my favorite Cd so far of the Jonas Brothers. This is a Cd that not only proves that they boys are growing up, but proves that they are doing what they love and producing a wide variety of music. This Cd has everything from crooning love song *Turn Right* to sad beautiful mellow song *Black Keys* and blast on the radio songs *Fly With Me*, Songs with a country twang to it *What Did I Do To Your Heart*, and more!

The Jonas Boys have a sound for everyone. Their song Much Better gives off an 80s vibe and the song Hey Baby gives off an oldie type vibe as well. There is so much variety I just couldn’t help but beam as the songs changed. By the end of the day my cheeks actually hurt from smiling so much!

Their voices are also growing and mixing very well! I was happy to be able to pick out some Kevin Jonas in a few of the songs. And the strings on the Cd are amazing as well. They do a great job and mixing instruments. Nick even plays the Glockenspiel in a song! Crazy!

This is a Cd about growing up. Mostly about the pains of growing up. Complications in life and love. It’s Cd about strength and hope.

Great Job Kevin, Joe, and Nick for making another wonderful piece of artwork. We love you and encourage you to keep doing what you love doing! You are great at it.

Now for some of my fave  lyrics:

So turn right, into my arms. Turn right, you won’t be alone. You might fall of this track sometimes. Hope to see you on the finish line. ~ Turn Right

And the black keys never looked so beautiful, and a perfect rainbow never seemed so dull. And the lights out never had this bright a glow and the black keys are showing me a world I’ve never known, a world I’ll never know. ~ Black Keys

We’re chasing stars to lose our shadow, Peter Pan and Wendy turned out fine. So won’t you fly with me~ Fly With Me

Love it! Love it! Love it!

Let me know what you think about it!

Social Vibe + WordPress= Make A Difference! June 16, 2009

As you all know, I am very passionate about finding ways to change the world. I love charities and charity events! I love raising money for good causes!

WordPress and Social Vibe have teamed up to help bloggers raise money for charities. While there are only a select number of charities there is probably one that you can relate to or are passionate about. I chose To Write Love On Her Arms an organization that serves as a crisis and suicide prevention organization. It is very popular with lots of young teens taking action through it. You can help support this organization that I have chosen by clicking the link on the side.

So what are you waiting for? All you bloggers out there using WordPress get this widget and support a charity! It’s time to make a difference.

Lines, Vines, and Trying Times June 15, 2009

This is the title of the new Jonas Brothers Cd that comes out Tuesday, Tomorrow, June 16th. I will post a review when I get it, but hear me out.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately. The past week or two have been stressful and emotional. Though I have made a break through.

For the title of their new album, the boys decided to go with a theme that has been occurring in their lives: Growing Up. It was explained in an interview with Kevin like this:

Lines: are lies that you tell or have been told

Vines: Strangle you or hold you back

Trying Times: no explanation needed

IN essence, growing up. We all experience lies, things that hold us back, and trying times. While the title may sound redundant it’s very reflective of life.

I’ve been experiencing these so called “growing pains” and I realized that I just need to make decisions and settle down. Yes, I’ll be doing it alone and we all know that I have a fear of being alone, however, this is no different than anything else I’ve done before in my life. I just need to go and do it. There  is a line in one of Kenny Chesney’s songs that goes like this: I knew I could never hold that girl, she was born to see the world. Well, as much as I want to stay at home and be with my family, I can’t. I know where I belong and what I need to do and it’s not going to happen in Philly, the subburbs, or in PA. I need to move. I’m just scared. Moving, alone, means starting over completely. In a new state, a new area, far from home…yes 15 hours by car, 2 by plane. Florida. Disney World. August is my deadline. I have until August to figure out if moving is the right thing for me. A mid-July trip to Orlando and the surrounding area is the perfect way to scope things out and make sure. If it doesn’t work out, well I can always come home and try again.

Another thing that’s been bugging me is that I really don’t see people. The one person I thought I would see a lot of, I’m not and it stinks. It turns out that this person is apparently, according to them, is not the person whom I thought they were. This person no longer calls or cares I guess. Which is fine since this person is moving far away at the end of the summer. To be honest, I saw this coming. I just was sort of hoping this person would prove me wrong or would be different than everyone else I know. But disappointment is never far away. I haven’t really been social because there is no one around here. But this does open up time to read, write, learn guitar, and so on.

I’m not depressed or upset about what has been going on this summer. Yes, it gets stressful and frustrating with my parents and the job thing, but I’m content. I love being here and just relaxing. I need this, for my health and sanity. I like to ease into things and this is the perfect way to do that. I have the rest of my life to work. I’m still young and a knockout (personality wise). A lot of people understand me, no one will ever understand my obsession with the Jonas Brothers, but I could care less. I am who I am. And my obsession with the Jonas Brothers is because they are a group of great musicians with good heads on their shoulders. One day people will see that. Half the time, if people didn’t know the Jonas Brothers were singing a certain song, people would like their music. I’ll get on that soapbox another time.

But life is life and I am excited to listen to Paranoid and Fly With Me all the time as well as the other music that will help me get through my own Lines, Vines, and Trying Times.

Fly With Me June 8, 2009

Hey All! Tonight I want to talk about my favorite boys.

First off: The premiere of their music video for Fly With Me was on the Disney Channel tonight. Even though the video wasn’t flashy or have a cool story-line and looked like it was made during their rehearsals, it was amazing! I think that it was perfectly Jonas Brothers. The video was exactly who they are. It was relaxed and fun. Joe’s facial expressions, the behind the scenes clips, Nick at his white piano, it was perfectly Jonas. I like how they let us in on the work they are doing for the tour. To see the turn table stage in action was amazing and really really cool.

I really liked the video because it reminded me why I liked the Jonas Brothers to begin with. Their music is amazing, they are extremely talented, they always want to go bigger and better in bringing their work to their fans. They are simple, fun loving guys who happen to make music we all can relate to. They have family and friends who love them and support them. Yes, they draw crowds and attention, but for three young guys in an EXTREMELY loose entertainment business, they seem to have their heads in the right places. Someday I hope to meet them *away from the crowds maybe* and find out for myself that they really do have their heads on straight and that it’s not all the Disney Giant speaking in-through them. They are boys, they are young men in a very VERY fast paced world and they will fall because they are not perfect, but they will get back up and learn. Just because they are in the public eye all the time doesn’t mean they are exempt from making mistakes. They are doing the best they can with the lives they have been given and while I don’t know from experience, I can guess that being in the light all the time is not an easy job.

So thanks again boys, for doing what you are doing! You are amazing young men *even the Frankster* and I think that you guys are on a great track. Thanks for being an inspiration to us all! Thanks for creating a family out of your band and not just be the Jonas Brothers with some back up band…thank you for being The Jonas Brothers *including band and all!*.  Just remember that you have all of us fans out here supporting you as well. You treat us great and for that, I respect you guys more than I respect any other celebrity!

A Quick Shout out to Mr. John Taylor who made his TV debut tonight on JONAS! You did a great job John! Hope to see more of you and the band the rest of the season!

Night At The Museum ~ IMAX May 22, 2009

So this morning I took my little cousin Kevin to see Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian at 10 am. We somehow managed just to make the movie, only to find out it started late. It started so late that they only played one preview…for Harry Potter 6! I am really excited about that movie, but on to this one…

I can never justify paying for movies these days. $10 is crazy let alone the costs of snacks. Today I payed $7 just for a medium sized bag of movie popcorn…next time I’m popping my own. On top of that the IMAX movie costs $15.50 for adults and $12.50 for kids. Really? $28 for a movie? Going to the movies has become a luxury item these days. I remember when you could get in under $5. These days, the movies are rip offs, especially if the movie stinks.

Now that I have you thinking that the movie stinks, I’m going to say that it didn’t stink. I haven’t seen the first movie so I had no expectations. In fact, I thought that the first movie sounded dumb. However, this is the movie Kevin wanted to see and he wanted to see it in IMAX. I love the IMAX experience even if I can’t justify paying for it. You can pickup every detail of the movie…there was even an IMAX theatre in the movie *look for it!*

I realize this movie has gotten a lot of mixed reviews. I read one today that said that the actors were horrible because they seemed to be looking at nothing which, for the most part, is what they were doing because when they were filming half the stuff wasn’t really there. However, I would beg to differ. I will admit that I hated parts of this movie. But the majority of it I loved simply because it served its purpose. For the hour and forty five minutes this movie ran, I actually was able to let my imagination wander on the thought of a museum coming alive. I found this an extremely interesting thought. I also am a fan of movies that teach life lessons, even if it is cheesy. This life lesson: Do what you love with people you love to do it with.

J.M. Barrie hit the nail on the head when he invited kids to see a performance of Peter Pan, knowing that the adults would not be able to appreciate it without being able to see the show through the eyes of a child. Sometimes I think that movie critics need to remember this. Of course you wouldn’t like it if you knew all the magic behind the movie and scrutinized every movement of the actors. Relax and watch the story unfold. Learn to laugh and open your mind up. Take a child with you for crying out loud. True, this twenty-something-year-old girl would have liked the movie even if I went with friends my own age, but that’s because I have the mind of 5 year old. I love to believe in magic. But sometimes I think we miss the purpose of things.

The purpose of this movie was to entertain. It was to make us laugh and let our imaginations run wild for a little bit. It wasn’t meant to mirror real life.  Therefore, I give this movie 4 out of 4 stars.

I could have done without the love story, however, Amy Adams was great *she always is*. I also loved the appearance by the Jonas Brothers as Cherubs. They were even able to sing a little bit of Love Bug. Also, stay tuned at the end of the movie for an extra little clip and to hear the Jonas Brothers song for the movie Fly With Me!

Did you see the movie? Let me know your thoughts!

GLEE ~ For the Love of It May 20, 2009

So I just watched GLEE with about half of America. I am simply at a loss for words. GLEE was AMAZING! Of course FOX will make us wait until September to see this show. They are some smart cookies those people at FOX. Since the ratings drop with 24 this past season, FOX needed something to stir up its audiences. Why not combine Musical Theatre and TV? But wait! We will premiere the show at the end of the Spring TV season and use it as a kick off to SWEEPS in the fall! They really are some very smart cookies! They also want YOU to tell YOUR friends to check out the first episode of GLEE all summer long on FOX.com.

So why did I like GLEE? Here are a few reasons:

GLEE puts everything I could never have into a show. My school never had a show choir, however, that was the one thing I’ve always wanted to be a part of. Because I never had experience in a show choir I was too chicken to join one in College, even though I know most of the people in it *Shout out to those SINGING LIONS!*, I still couldn’t do it. I think it’s the one thing I regret. I would love to go back to my high school now and start one. I would need some help though, but I know I’d be able to find it. I was never really a jock and I never really fit in anywhere. I can relate a lot of the characters of Rachel and Mr. Schuester. I feel like an outsider a lot. However, I find absolute joy and I am most happy when I am preforming. GLEE has many definitions, but it mostly means joy or happiness. So this show is perfect for that.

It relates at a wide audience. This is not a show that is going to bring in Women between the ages of 18-49, which is the demographic most sitcoms seem to be going towards these days. This is a show that is going to draw teenagers, college kids, and adults together. This is a show that is going to bring together not only the theatre lovers but people who love to watch a good sitcom.

SHOW TUNES! OK so maybe there aren’t going to be too many show tunes. But the fact that there are musical theatre artists in the show and scheduled to guest star on the show, I am extremely PUMPED! Finally, everyone will be able to get a taste of what I love about performing arts! Show tunes are goofy, but that doesn’t mean the people who sing them are. Well, I consider myself goofy, but if you look at the people in the performing arts lifestyle, most of them are doing it because they are passionate about it. Some are doing it because it’s all they have ever known, and that’s ok too. But the majority of performers perform because its what makes them happy, it is their passion. When was the last time you did something that you were extremely passionate about? I’m serious. If you are passionate about math and you love accounting…do it! Don’t just settle for the first thing that comes your way and makes you miserable. It’s a lot like a relationship. Hey! I think GLEE is going somewhere with this…

But I won’t spoil the show for everyone. I will simply suggest that you head on over to FOX.com/GLEE and watch the first episode and decide for yourself.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will be pulling our hair out in anticipation for the fall season of GLEE!

Dreams Come True Every Day. May 19, 2009

The Final Voiceover for One Tree Hill Season Six is as follows:

Mouth: Take a look at yourself in a mirror who do you see looking back?
Haley: Is it the person you want to be?
Dan: Or is there someone else you were meant to be the person you were meant to be but fell short of?
Mia: Is someone telling you you can’t or won’t? Because you can.
Chase: Believe that love is out there.
Nathan: Believe that dreams come true every day.  Because they do.
Peyton: Sometimes happiness doesn’t come from money or fame or power.  Sometimes happiness comes from good friends and family and the quiet nobility of leading a good life.
Julian: Believe that dreams come true every day.  Because they do.
Brooke: Believe that dreams come true every day.  Because they do.
Peyton: So take a look in that mirror and remind yourself to be happy because you deserve to be.  Believe that.
Lucas: And believe that dreams come true every day.  Because they do

This is a post about dreams. Not just my dreams, but your dreams too.

Somewhere in the midst of getting an education and making the people around me happy and focusing on doing well in school that I could get a job…I lost sight of my dreams. Somewhere between childhood and turning 22 I forgot what I really wanted to become in life. Now, I believe that I have become a fairly decent person who loves to help people, especially children. Maybe I didn’t so much lose sight of my dream, so much as I lost hope in my dream. Because somewhere along the line, a lot of people told me that I couldn’t do that. I won’t make any money doing what I love to do. What I love to do is simply put a smile on people’s faces. I love entertaining.

I am crazy. I love to have fun and I love to laugh. I don’t think that I am well suited for an office job because I love to be up and moving all day. Sitting around is boring to me. I need human interaction. I need life.

I have a lot of dreams. I want to sing on stage in front of people. I want to juggle for a crowd. I want to make a little girl feel like a princess and show little boys that they don’t have be cool to fit in. I want to show other’s that there is more to life than the workplace. There are family and friends, adventures and nature, life and music and love and laughter. I want to get married to the most amazing guy who I haven’t even met yet (so I think). I want to be in a relationship that is based off of my personality and not my sex appeal. I dream of savoring every moment of life.

I recently graduated from college. A major life change. I have had many life changes: I stood for 46 hrs straight to help fight pediatric cancer and learned I could make a difference in the smallest way, I spent a summer in Vail, Colorado with Campus Crusade of Christ and learned how to trust men again as well as meeting our amazing Creator in a breathtaking place, I spent a semester in Disney make the dreams of other’s come true and realizing the dreams I have for myself as well. I am vowing t clear the path to make my dreams come true.

Now on to your dreams. What are they? Did you forget about them? Are they lost in the shuffle of life? Are you too busy to notice the smaller things that may hold the key to reaching those dreams? I challenge you to clear the path to make your dreams come true. Take small steps before you take big leaps…but dig deep. Find the dreams you’ve wanted to achieve your entire life and live them.

Believe that dreams come true every day. Because they do.

Talk about a commencement speech.
